The American public's dependence on the federal government shot up 23% in just two years under President Obama, with 67 million now relying on some federal program, according to a newly released study by the Heritage Foundation.
(1) The American political establishment has done a super job keeping our country prosperous and our liberties protected, so I’m sure whatever candidate they push on me is probably a good one.
(2) Our country is basically bankrupt. Unfunded entitlement liabilities are in excess of twice world GDP. Therefore, it’s a good idea to vote for someone who offers no specific spending cuts of any kind.
(3) Vague promises to cut spending are good enough for me, even though they have always resulted in higher spending in the past.
(4) I prefer a candidate who plays to the crowd, instead of having the courage to tell his...more
From WND.com:
Just prior to his appointment as President Obama’s so-called regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein wrote a lengthy academic paper suggesting the government should “infiltrate” social network websites, chat rooms and message boards.
Such “cognitive infiltration,” Sunstein argued, should be used to enforce a U.S. government ban on “conspiracy theorizing.”

We can only hope that Americans feel much safer now that Lenore has been stripped of the 'potential terrorist' label, and her clothing.

10 or 15 years ago, it seemed like the science was pretty one sided. The Earth was warming, and man was the cause for most of that increase. Dire predictions flooded the airwaves.
Some of the more spectacular alarmists claimed that Manhattan would be underwater within the next ten years due to rising sea levels. John Stokes, over at The Canadian, predicted 4.5 billion deaths...by 2012.
Along with these terrifying predictions made by seemingly respectable scientists came massive calls for the government to avert this catastrophe.
So far, speaker Boehner's performance in the budget battle has been mixed. That's the best that can be said about it really.
Not too long ago, we witnessed the terribly embarrassing budget cut debacle. He pushed for the "huge" cuts of 100 billion, which got lowered to 36 billion, which the CBO finally revealed to be a mere 353 Million. His "massive" budget cut that he "fought so hard to get" was less than .01% of the Federal budget.
Color me unimpressed.
"Free" government provided education is one of the most sacred cows of today's society. The notion of ending it is so radical that few can even analyze the issue rationally.
According to the popular mythos, Public Schools are absolutely essential to modern industrial society. Without them, we would be little more than illiterate peasants. A handful of rich children would receive a good education, and no one else could compete against them.
So, why am I opposed to the whole notion?
